During Halloween weekend, there will be a wide range of ghoulish events at East Village; from a special trick or treat trail to pumpkin carving competitions and workshops, there’s sure to be something for the whole family to enjoy.
On Saturday 28th October, East Village is hosting a spook-tacular trick or treat trail that will be FREE for families and will include tricks along with tasty delights from a number of East Village retailers, including spooky specials from artisan Italian bakery Signorelli.
Registration: To take part, trick or treaters need to register on the day at the Spooktacular Castle on Victory Parade from 1pm*. Once there, they will be able to collect their FREE trick or treat bucket and map, which will lead them around a wide-array of East Village retailers to collect their very own terrifying tricks and treats.
Throughout the whole Halloween weekend, retailers at East Village will also have a range of ghoulishly delightful treats for all ages to tuck into. For those wanting to put their scary skills to the test, Ted’s Veg is hosting pumpkin carving competitions and workshops for adults and children on Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October from 3pm – 6pm.
You can even make a day of it on the Sunday and, before carving some pumpkins, head on down to the neighbourhood market which runs from 11am – 4pm on Victory Parade. Not only will there be a wide range of tasty treats but there will also be spooky, colourful entertainers wandering amongst the stalls. There are sure to be some scary surprises to delight all ages, including free frightening face-painting for children.

* Last registration for Spook-tacular East Village is 4.30pm. All children participating must be accompanied by an appropriate adult over the age of 18 at all times. Spook-tacular East Village is for children aged 16 and under. Registration to participate will be on a first come, first served basis. Trick or treating will involve East Village retailers only and not any residential buildings. This activity has been pre-arranged by the East Village Community Engagement team in collaboration with the retail owners from 1-5pm only. An official photographer will be taking photos throughout this activity.
