To celebrate five years as a neighbourhood, we are hosting a Summer Fete on Saturday 14th July from 11am – 4pm with the theme of glitter. The one-day event, which is free to attend and open to all ages, will mix traditional summer fete activities with a twinking twist that’s perfect for friends and family to enjoy.

Are you a glitter lover? You are then in for a treat with East Village’s Firezza giving away 200 slices of glitter pizza throughout the day. For those in need of even more sparkle in their lives, La Gelatiera will be providing vegan glitter sorbet and Signorelli’s The Bread Shop will be selling glitter lattes.

Children are invited to take part in the Glitterball Fancy Dress Disco and adults and kids alike will be offered a free glitter make-over. East Village’s Great Glitter Bake Off will challenge budding bakers (maybe you?)  to create sparkly sweet treats to be judged at the fete. The Glitter Belles on Stilts will also be roaming the village sprinkling their magic.

You can also enjoy traditional games like the Coconut Shy, Hook a Duck and a Donkey Derby and a programme of live acts on the main stage, with break-dancers Soul Mavericks jazz band Sunshine Kings and female acoustic band There She Goes serenading East Village. Sounds great, isn’t it?

Sports fans wanting to watch the Women’s Wimbledon Final at 2pm will be able to see it on a screen on Victory Parade. There will also be a number of activities to partake in including a football penalty shootout game hosted by Football Foundation and activities at the London Aquatics Centre and Lee Valley Velo Park over at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

There will be a market with over 25 homewares, crafts and food stalls as well as a prosecco truck and craft beer bar providing refreshments.

Other activities include:

  • A live DJ playing summer tunes
  • Tennis Champs
  • Long jump and balance activities at the London Aquatics Centre
  • Penalty Shoot-out hosted by the Football Foundation
  • Watt Bike Challenge and Lee Valley Hockey at the Lee Valley VeloPark
  • Fitness Challenge by Better Gym East Village

Let’s celebrate together – see you on Saturday 14th July!
