It’s that time of the year again – Christmas! Our Christmas tree has been set up and for the third year running, we are inviting you to donate Christmas presents for local children in need as part of the Christmas Tree Project.

The Christmas Tree Project is an appeal by the Metropolitan Police which aims to ensure that thousands of children in care across the capital receive a Christmas present each year. Unwrapped gift donations can be taken to the Get Living Welcome Office.

The Met Police work closely with Newham Council to identify those children most in need and East Village is delighted to be able to support the project again this year.

Last year, residents, staff teams and businesses in East Village and the surrounding area all got involved, donating a total of 250 presents, giving a wonderful display of community and festive spirit in East Village.

You can find the Christmas Tree to leave some presents under in the Get Living London Welcome Office at 5 Celebration – E20 1DB (Next to Stratford International DLR station).

Donating to the appeal is simple:

- Buy a present suitable for a girl/boy between the ages of 0-17, with a suggested value between £5 and £20.

- Drop your unwrapped present to the Get Living London Welcome Office (5 Celebration Avenue), by Sunday 10 December. The office is open 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 6pm Saturday and Sunday.

- Once the deadline has passed the East Village Police team will collect the presents and make sure they are wrapped before being distributed to local children in need.
