Ghosts, vampires, princesses, ghouls and all sort of spooky youngsters, joined us last Saturday for an afternoon of trick-or-treating fun around East Village.

The East Village Community Engagement team welcomed families for a free spook-tacular afternoon on Saturday 28 October, with fang-stastic tricks and treats ready to be tucked into from the great range of independent East Village retailers. These included bone-chillingly, tasty ghostly cupcakes, delicious zombie's eyes, succulent fingertips, toffee apples, creepy Halloween cakes and more, all to feed those hungry monsters!

Halloween would not be complete without pumpkins and throughout the Halloween weekend, Ted’s Veg was teaching the art of pumpkin carving and decorating to East Village visitors. We saw families having fun scooping out seeds and tracing stencils on their carefully chosen Ted’s Veg pumpkin on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Agitated Zombie dancers also made several appearances around East Village and danced creepily to the sound of Thriller by Michael Jackson, delighting children and adults alike.

To close up the weekend, Christabel, hosted a great evening of suspense at RedYellowBlue, where guests got to expand their knowledge on holding an audience’s fear and anxiety with Paul McEvoy, director of Fright Fest and Katie Bonham director ‘’Mab’’. ‘’
