The residents of East Village were in for a surprise when boxing hero Anthony Joshua turned up to see how the neighbourhood has changed since the London 2012 Olympics. Anthony made his appearance during the week of the two-year anniversary of the games and even popped in for a look around the exact apartment that he called home during that time. Anthony even took time to visit state of the art school, Chobham Academy, and check out the facilities on offer for budding sports stars.

During the visit to his old digs Anthony met with current resident Ben Leonard, who filled him in on what it’s like living in the former Athletes’ Village. Ben said, “It was wonderful to have Anthony visit East Village and he was genuinely excited by the changes that have taken place. It reminds us of the legacy and heritage behind our neighborhood which we now call home.”

Anthony Joshua commented, “It has been such a great experience to visit East Village. Returning to a place that brings back such powerful memories of London 2012 has been so exciting and it is fascinating to see how they’ve turned our apartments into amazing homes for people. The facilities at the Chobham Academy are fantastic and the accommodation on offer is very impressive.”
