With a celebrity chef, fabulous Italian restaurant and plenty of bubbly, East Village was very much the place to be for National Pizza Day 2018!
After running a competition for the chance to learn to make proper Italian pizza with both the chefs at Santi Restaurant and Great British Bake Off contestant Benjamina Ebuehi, hundreds of entries were whittled down to just five very lucky winners and their guests.
They descended on Santi on Thursday 8 February, the eve of National Pizza Day, where they were put through their paces in pizza making workshops, while enjoying a glass or two of prosecco. From stretching and shaping dough (harder than it looks and sounds!) through to topping the pizzas and the very tricky skill of sliding into the stone pizza oven, everyone came away with a new appreciation for the art of pizza making...and very full stomachs!
