East Village moves to Zone 2

East Village has moved home, but hasn't required any removals vans as it's stayed in the same place!

As of January 2016 Stratford International, along with the other two Stratford Stations; Stratford and Stratford High Street, has become part of Zone 2.

Transport for London re-zoned Stratford as part of the Mayor's plans to create a new cultural hub in the Queen Elizabeth Park called "Olympicopolis".

The Stratford stations now straddle Zone 2 and 3, meaning no extra cost for commuters to and from the area, but potentially very significant savings.

It follows plans unveiled by TFL to start running a 24 hour tube service at weekends, with a launch date due to be announced in 2016. With East Village currently served by High Speed Rail, DLR, central and jubilee tube lines and the overground train service, being able to reach it 24-hours a day really does add to its reputation as the best connected neighbourhood in London.
