East Village formerly announced as Education and Development sponsor for Hackney WickED 2013

Then in its sixth year, Hackney WickED was dedicated to celebrating art and supporting the community by providing a platform for artists from east London to showcase their work alongside established and international names. Aiming to make art events free, accessible and inclusive, the festival programme included a series of cutting-edge events to inspire and educate the local community.

Hackney WickED events provided through East Village’s sponsorship included a screen-printing workshop, street art photography class and studio tours, as well as creative sessions led by local artists.

East Village’s sponsorship also led to a partnership between Hackney WickED and the brand new school within East Village, Chobham Academy - a world-class education campus that opened in September 2013, catering for 1,800 students as well as providing facilities for the wider community.
