East Village Clothes Drive

As today is an international celebration of women, we hope you will join Get Living in supporting Smart Works, a fantastic charity helping women who are currently unemployed to build their confidence and prepare them for the working world.

Smart Works supports with women who are referred from job centres, homeless shelters, prisons, care homes, and mental health charities, providing them with training, self-belief and practical tools to succeed at interviews.

They also provide interview clothing and so we are asking our Get Living staff and East Village residents to support a clothes drive.

We will be collecting donations in the Get Living welcome office on Friday 22 March.

It's the perfect opportunity for a sort out your wardrobes ahead of spring!

Please see below for donation guidelines - we hope you are able to take part.

All donated clothing to be in good condition, clean and ready to wear

*       

All items must be freshly dry-cleaned or laundered and ironed, no more than two to three years old

*       

We welcome donations of high-quality workwear and accessories including:

o  

Business suits

o  

Skirts and trousers

o  

Dresses

o  

Tops and blouses

o  

Handbags

o  

Shoes

o  

Jackets and coats

o  

New tights and new underwear

o  

Jewellery

o  

Accessories

o  

Unopened cosmetics and toiletries

We particularly welcome donations in larger sizes as these are always in short supply

*       

Donations of high-end luxury clothing will be chosen for Smart Works designer sale.
