East Village is delighted to again be supporting the Christmas Tree Appeal 2016, following its success last year.

The project, run by the Met Police and Newham Council, aims to ensure that children in care across the region will receive a Christmas present this year. All areas of the community in East Village, from Get Living London through to Team East Village, are backing the campaign and you can find the Christmas tree to leave some presents under in the Get Living London Welcome Office at 5 Celebration Avenue (next to Stratford International DLR Station).

In 2015 the Met Police had over 11,000 presents and over £9,000 kindly donated by the public helping to provide presents to children who may otherwise not have received one last Christmas. This year with your help we're hoping to help them do even better.

Donating to the appeal is simple:

             - Buy a present suitable for a girl/boy between the ages of 0-12, with a suggested value of between £5 and £20.

             - Drop your unwrapped present off to the Get Living London Welcome Office (5 Celebration Avenue). It's open Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, and 9am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

             - The deadline is Sunday 11 December.

Once the dealdine has passed the East Village Police team will collect the presents and make sure they are wrapped before being distributed around the borough.
