Cat In The Hat inspires E20 children

Children and adults alilke flocked to East Village last weekend to enjoy the arrival of the world famous Cat In The Hat!

The special reading activity took place in Victory Park on Sunday 4 September to encourage children to get reading and get outdoors. The Dr Seuss-themed Story Spectacular took place thanks to the East Village Community Engagement Team, who had joined up with Discover Children's Story Centre in Stratford as well as Stratford Library, to help inspire youngsters to immerse themselves in the magic of reading.

Hundreds descended on E20 for the event, and attendees were given the opportunity to create a digital book and take part in a reading challenge alongside a series of interactive Dr Seuss-themed stories and games.

Neil Young, CEO of Get Living London who oversaw the activity, said: "We really enjoyed hosting the Story Spectacular at East Village this weekend "As we continue to grow our community, we believe it's important to host activities for residents of all ages to enjoy "With over 300 people attending, our Story Spectacular was a huge success and it was great to see so many young children and their families inspired by creative storytelling."
