Running every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6pm East Village Summer Street Vans will see three different critically acclaimed street food traders rotating throughout the summer. The line-up will include Anna Mae’s with their famous Mac’n’Cheese and Bell & Brisket’s salt beef bagels.
Foodie fans can feast on wood-fired pizzas with a British twist from Born & Raised, offering flavours such as pork shoulder through to apple & sage puree. If that hasn’t got you salivating, think Italian classics from Cheeky Italian, with a changing range of fresh pastas from ‘Primavera Farfalle’ to ‘Sausage Ragu Conchiglione’. Why not try a gourmet sandwich from Soho favourites, Sub Cult? Or fulfill your inner carnivore with Constancia and tear into a prime Argentinian steak sandwich. Coffee lovers will have to try Bean about Town, serving up hand pulled espressos from the finest quality coffee beans. Those with a sweet tooth can finish off at French Revolution, who will be flipping traditional galettes and crepes, with gluten and wheat free options to cater for all.
East Village Summer Street Vans is part of an ongoing cultural offering delivered to enhance community life in East Village E20, which follows the Artist in Residence scheme that started last year with Tinchy Stryder developing a school anthem at Chobham Academy through to Our Parks free outdoor fitness classes. Additionally, a weekend of free films were screened in Victory Park as part of the opening weekend of this year’s East End Film Festival, which offered a preview screening of film of the moment, ‘Chef’ starring Jon Favreau as a street foodie and his journey to a successful restaurateur.
