Masterchef winner Natalie Coleman celebrates her roots with a brand-new London menu

East Village is collaborating with the incredibly talented Natalie Coleman; east London gem and the winner of Masterchef 2013, to create a menu that celebrates the array of great independent food retailers in East London.

Natalie, who hails from Hackney, has taken inspiration from her neighborhood to create these delicious dishes, using local produce from East London’s finest independents and suppliers. With an abundance of fantastic butchers, bakers and liquor-makers in East London, Natalie’s recipes hope to inspire people to shop locally when cooking.

One recipe features salmon sourced from H Forman & Sons in Hackney Wick, cured with gin from the East London Liquor Company, accompanied perfectly by sour dough bread available from E5 Bakery. For her mouth-watering slow roast pork dish, she recommends a visit to Hill & Szork butchers in Broadway Market, serving up the finest cuts in East London. The menu also includes a delicious pannacotta pudding and for those partial to a tipple, a Bramble Cocktail, again using produce from London’s newest distillery, the East London Liquor Company.

Natalie has ensured that the recipes are easy to make so that they can be replicated and enjoyed by the busy families and young sharers that live in East Village and the surrounding areas. With her tips for where to source the best ingredients and a step-by-step guide to the recipes, Natalie aims to inspire the people of East London to master the art of cooking and celebrate all that the East End has to offer.

Natalie’s East London menu and collaboration with East Village is first in a series of events called ‘East Village Presents’. Through a mix of events, talks, experiences and workshops held in the Village, ‘East Village Presents’ celebrates all the amazing things that come out of, happen in and are inspired by East London, particularly East Village.
